About Pronto Bookkeeping

Justin Harras, CPA, CA is the founder of Pronto Books Inc. A graduate from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, Justin went into public practice with a local public accounting firm in the summer of 2012. There, he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience ranging from audit, business valuations, corporate tax, business consulting to personal taxes. After 7 years in public accounting, he came to the conclusion that the part he enjoyed most about his career, was helping business owners with their day-to-day decisions and providing insight to companies not yet large enough to be able to attract a designated CPA, CA in their internal accounting department.

Out of this passion, Justin took on the role as Chief Financial Officer of a startup, local bookkeeping firm in 2018 where he helped over fifty local businesses and business owners achieve their goals. Pronto Books was born out of a culmination of all of the knowledge and learning experiences that Justin encountered during the course of his career thus far. Pronto wasn’t designed to be another run-of-the-mill bookkeeping service that gives historical reports too old to be of any use or value. Pronto is the evolution of bookkeeping; going beyond pure data entry and into the advisory services that so many business owners are seeking. We provide businesses with the technology, tools and expertise that will give them the information they need in order to make the best decisions. Jessica Toews joined the Pronto Team in Summer of 2021. A graduate from the International Career School of Canada, Jessica earned her bookkeeping diploma and began her first bookkeeping role in February 2015. With experience as the in-house bookkeeper for several local businesses as well as experience in a public bookkeeping firm, Jessica has a strong understanding of both worlds. She understands the difficulties that most small-medium businesses face with their accounting and works hard to deliver the same level of quality and care to her bookkeeping clients that they would be getting from an on-staff bookkeeping employee.

Jessica enjoys building relationships with small business owners and becoming an integral part of their team. She loves staying current with the latest developments and apps in cloud-bookkeeping and finding ways to leverage them to make life easier for her clients. She also excels at helping clients formalize or create internal processes for their bookkeeping as well as mentoring and training new staff.
